• Account information: your email address and a display name you choose when you register.
• Gameplay data: match history, moves, results, rating, win/loss records, and progression such as Battle Pass experience.
• Payment data: when you buy chips, payment processing is handled by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive a transaction reference and confirmation, not your full card details.
• Usage data: device and approximate location information, and how you interact with the platform, used to improve reliability and prevent abuse.

How we use your information

• To create and maintain your account and your chess profile.
• To run matches, calculate ratings, record history, and deliver rewards.
• To process chip purchases and withdrawal requests, and to verify identity where required for payouts.
• To enforce fair play and our terms, including anti-cheat and anti-fraud measures.
• To send service notices (for example, a withdrawal status update) and, where you opt in, marketing updates you can unsubscribe from at any time.

Wagering & age

Risk matches and any withdrawal features are restricted to users who have verified they are at least 18 years old and otherwise legally permitted to participate in their jurisdiction. Wagering uses virtual chips only. We do not allow real-money betting on outcomes, and free chips carry no cash value except where a valid withdrawal is approved at our discretion.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help operate Chess Fields (for example, hosting, email delivery, and payments), each bound to protect your data and use it only for our instructions, and where we are legally required to do so.

Data retention

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active and for a limited period afterward to resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and improve our services. You may request deletion of your account; certain records may be retained where the law requires it.

Security

We protect accounts and payments with server-side authorization, encrypted payment processing, and atomic transaction handling to prevent double-charging or double-crediting. No method is perfectly secure, but we work to keep Chess Fields safe and fair.

Your choices

• Update your profile, bio, and cosmetics at any time from your account.
• Request a copy of your data or deletion of your account by contacting us.
• Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any such message.

Children

Chess Fields is not directed to children under 13, and wagering features are not available to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will reflect the date above and, for material changes, notify you through the app or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
